Disney Cruise for Adults?
There is no question that Disney Cruise line is the top cruise line for families and it’s even the perfect multi-generational family vacation. But adults only?
Here are 5 reasons why I believe Disney Cruise line is still one of the best cruise lines for an adults-only vacation:
Every Disney Cruise ship has an adult only area pool/deck area! This area is located in different areas depending on the ship. On the 4 original ships it is located near the Cove Cafe which does mean that occasionally kiddos are walking around the edges. But on the newer ships, this area is on the end of the ship and almost impossible to accidentally walk into so the changes of a child appearing are slim to none. There is always a pool in this area and sometimes a hot tub (or even multiple hot tubs) as well.
Adult Only Lounges- after certain hours many of the bars and lounges become adult only on a Disney Cruise so you can enjoy those areas without any children around.
Specialty Dining is adult only- Palo, Remy, and Enchante are all specialty dining locations on Disney cruise ships and these are exclusive to guests 18 and older. They are an added cost but are well worth the experience.
Entertainment for everyone: while there might be children at the shows or meeting characters, the entertainment on board is for EVERYONE and as an adult, it’s okay to let out your inner child and enjoy. Disney Cruise line also still offers fun activities like Bingo, karaoke, trivia and more.
Safety! I’ve traveled as a solo female on Disney Cruise line multiple times and never had a moments pause about my safety which is big. A Disney cruise can be a great option for a girls trip, mom/daughter trip, bachelor/bachelorette parties and more. Staff is vetted and makes you feel comfortable, there are nice safety options including lock options on the rooms and more.
However, there are a couple things to keep in mind that are not available on a Disney Cruise (which is part of why I prefer them):
Drink packages- most general beverages including soda are included on your Disney cruise but if you are looking for a drink package that includes alcohol, this is not an option. You can bring some alcohol on board, purchase a beer or wine package or even get a drink of the day for around $6-$8 each day but this is different from many other cruise lines. I personally love this because while I do enjoy an occasional drink, I don’t drink much and don’t enjoy a big “party” atmosphere.
No casinos- there are no casinos on Disney cruises. Again, this is important for some guests but I personally don’t enjoy casinos and especially don’t enjoy the smoke that comes from them so for me this is another win.
I love Disney Cruise line and have only ever sailed as an adult without a kid (don’t worry, we have Baby Fish’s first Disney cruise already booked so that will be happening). I would love to help you book your adult-only or family Disney cruise.
