10 Fun Ways You Can Make an Adult Only Trip to WDW Extra Special
Yes- you can (and probably should) take an adult only trip to Walt Disney World. This is the primary way I’ve traveled to Disney and it’s wonderful. I’ve even traveled as a solo female and love how safe I feel when I’m in the Disney bubble. It’s not always realistic (or in the budget) to leave the country and not everyone wants to visit an all-inclusive, but Disney can still be magical and fun for an adult only trip.
From a solo trip to a bachelor/bachelorette party to a fun couples getaway, here are 10 fun things you can do during an adult only trip to make it extra special:
Close down the parks- skip rope drop and sleep in so you can take advantage of lower wait times later in the evenings (especially if there is a park like Magic Kingdom that stays open after fireworks. Instead take a leisurely morning at your resort and enjoy the later night with fewer kids around.
Stay Deluxe- on that note- consider staying at a Deluxe resort since these also include extended evening hours on select nights in select parks.
Special dining experiences- perhaps you want to try the Michelin Star Victoria and Alberts or even just want a nice sit down meal at a location like Topolino’s Terrace or Le Cellier. No need to worry about a child in your party being too picky to eat there. Grab that reservation and enjoy. Looking for a lesser known option- don’t sleep on Enzo’s Hideaway! The food is spectacular and it is designed like a speak easy.
Drink/Eat/Snack Around the World- most guests have heard about “drinking around the world” (which you can do with mocktails and other fun drinks that do not include alcohol) but you can also do this with food and snacks. Fun bonus, make it a challenge to take a photo or do something fun in each country around the World Showcase as well.
Try a fireworks dessert party- while the cost of these doesn’t always make sense with littles, this can be a special experience with other adults. It can give you a prime viewing location for the fireworks (or even a seat!)
Rent a surrey bike- the Boardwalk and Port Orleans Riverside both have bike rentals available and it can be a fun way to get around and is reasonably priced.
Rent a boat- guests can rent a boat (you will not be driving, they have a dedicated driver) to go fishing or even for a fireworks cruise from select resorts. The fireworks cruise is one of my favorite magical extras and very reasonable pricing when you are with a group.
Try a monorail or skyliner progressive dinner or bar crawl. The drinks don’t even have to include alcohol but visit the resorts along the monorail or the skyliner (or even along the Boardwalk) and try one thing at each resort.
Do a Capture Your Moment session- this is a private 20 minute photo session that you can enjoy in the parks for you and up to 7 other guests. This can be really special if you are celebrating something like an anniversary or an upcoming wedding and while it’s great for famlies, it is also very fun for adults.
RunDisney- yes, children can run select RunDisney races (5 and older for the 5k, 10 and older for the 10k, etc), but the crowd here is mainly adults because what child really wants to run at 5am hahaha. This is one of my favorite experiences at Walt Disney World because you will make friends, challenge yourself physically and yet still have fun at the same time.
Not every experience listed is the right fit for your Walt Disney World vacation but I am ready to help you make the BEST choices for your trip whether it includes a couple, a girls trip, your family or even a multi-generational group.
